Black in Nonprofits: Grant Writers Edition
"Collaboration is one of the best strategies to achieve a common goal". ~Dr. Rhonika Thomas
Chapters In The Book
I am a firm believer that organizations should never desperately "chase" money, applying for funding dollars that don't align with their
mission, vision, values, or core programs.
Annette J. Morris
No matter the flexibility or ease of foundation grants, an organization must still be grant ready in order to qualify or receive funding from a foundation.
Grant readiness chapter...The overall goal is to get money, not spend it unnecessarily. Grant preparation is essential
Michael and Faith Thomas
"As grant service professionals, it is our goal to see charitable entities save money, reduce stress, and sustain a financially healthy organization through the process of establishing a grant team".
Papi's Grant Writing Theorem #5: In grant writing - like in sports - if you don't shoot, you don't score. So you just keep on shooting because some of those bad boys will go in "nothin but net"!
"Money is not the ROOT of why your nonprofit does not have funding. Money is for "Fruit". At the root is lack for planning, strategy, and leadership..." 2) Activity is not impact. Knowing the difference makes the difference in getting grant funding".
